Chris,
Have you experienced life beyond dreams…
Pain beyond screams?
Beheld a plethora of emotions…
Only to realize none are as real as they seem?
Felt hot tears trailing down your face
As cold wind from crystal blue skies leaves dry salt tracks
As you reminisce of the last time you had a warm embrace.
Reoccurring thoughts plague the mind
Of the last time… you gazed into eyes that told the story of love…
Imagined in the heart, fantasized in the mind, lost in the past, and in the present, you desire to find.
Only to run it away, why… you say?
Fear of the unknown, better yet, fear of the returning of the painful decay…
Of releasing something so precious to you, not to receive anything in return…
Except for pain… pain that doesn’t go away… pain that is not physically felt,
but mentally torments you day by day.
Self sabotage? Possibly.
Guarding, protecting your heart… most likely…
Not leaving much room left for trust.
Creating a strange predicament…
Wanting love, intimacy, a true relationship…
But without trust, the only thing you establish is lust.
Meaningless sex, mentally un-perplexed… unable to affect or infect the soul.
The effect of such… endless trials of trying to fill your emotional hole.
Again, I ask…
Have you experienced life beyond dreams?
Pain beyond screams?
Once you stop trying to protect yourself and let go.
Trust GOD.
He has provided you with more than you think…
And desires to give you more than you will ever need.
All you have to do is trust Him, let Him love you, and…
Believe.

Help Required

Painfully known the lack of love shown.
Knowing that I should leave, my heart bereaved.
Unable to move, the muscles in my heart torn.
Always on my knees begging the Lord please...
Enable me.
Stuck in the mist.
Pecked on the lips by an empty unfeeling kiss.
Wondering if...this is all that life has for me.
Yet, I still have hope.
But, it's getting harder to cope.
Oh Lord, please enable me.
Affection...gone.
Tenderness...amiss.
The act of making love...
Replaced by meaningless sex.
Oh Lord, I desire so much more than this.
Enable me.
Empty touches.
Cold stares.
Words devoid of love.
Thoughts of the future lack care.
Where to go from here...
I'm unaware.
Enable me.

Capturing Butterflies
.
.
.
Early in the morning, I'd hardly seen any.
But as the sun would rise & warm the earth...
Fluttering & beautifully decorated, I'd see plenty.
Carousing with eachother.
Moving from flower to flower.
Dancing in the sky like lovers.
I'd watch them for hours.
They were so beautiful.
So, I decided to capture one of my own.
I imagined it with me,
beautifully decorated fluttering in my home.
I pictured it happy & content.
I even envisioned how our days would be spent.
I couldn't wait anylonger,
outside I went.
I had nothing to catch it...
Just my love & my hand.
So, out there in the middle of the summer day
Among all the butterflies, I stood, waiting for one to land.
Finally, one did.
I cupped my hands together.
I could feel it alive inside.
I ran into the house,
prepared to love my new butterfly.
Once in the house,
with the doors & windows shut.
I opened my hands,
then threw the butterfly up.
I noticed on my hands a powder of sort...&
The butterfly seemed to be struggling.
The way it flapped its wings & body began to contort.
Before long, it laid on its side on the floor.
I knew it was dead.
I took it outside.
I no longer dream of capturing butterflies... anymore.
I just bought some flowers.
And in the middle of the day...
I open the door.
